ECOLOGY
The Carpathian Euroregion Organization was established on February 1993 by an agreement signed in Debrecen (Hungary) by regional government bodies of border regions of Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Ukraine. In 1997 Romania joined the organization. It includes now 14 neighbouring provinces of these countries, with a territory of almost 150,000 sq.km and a population of 15 million. The aim of the organization is to facilitate cross-border cooperation among its members and to coordinate the activities in economics, sport, protection of environment, science, tourism, education. The aim of the CERECO conferences is to facilitate solving the environmental problems of the Carpathian Euroregion, to bring together scientists, professionals, law-makers and politicians from different countries, to establish trans-border cooperation in the field of environmental monitoring and protection. The first CERECO conference was held in 1994 in Uzhorod, Ukraine, the CERECO-1997, CERECO-2000 and CERECO-2003 conferences were held in Miskolc, Hungary and the CERECO-2014 was held in Beregovo, Ukraine.
The CERECO-2017 will take place on March 30-April 1, 2017, in Beregovo, Transcarpathia, Ukraine as a part of „Rakoczi days” commemorating the beginning of the upraise and fight for freedom of Hungary under leadership of Prince II. Ferenc Rakoczi in early XVIII. century that started in this region.
Subject areas
The Conference will be devoted to general and regional problems of the environmental protection, in particular:
- disposal and treatment of municipal and hazardous wastes,
- modern water and soil treatment and remediation methods,
- biotechnology in the environmental protection,
- methods for treatment of disasters in transbordary zones,
- monitoring of the environment,
- environmental biology, medicine and education,
A special attention will be paid on the monitoring and protection of surface waters with respect to the Carpathian region.
Sessions and languages
Oral and poster sessions will be organized. The official languages will be English, Hungarian and Ukrainian/Russian. We kindly ask authors to prepare slides for presentation/demonstration in English.

Publications
Proceedings of the Conference will be published by the opening ceremony. The authors are kindly invited to send the 4-6-page paper using one of the official languages (preferably English) to the above address until January 15, 2017. The expected format is the following:
Page boundaries should be left and right 2.5 cm, top and bottom 2.0 cm, with 1 line-spacing using MS Word and Times New Roman font (12 pt.) text. The paper title should be in bold font 12 pt. and centred. Following the title include one line space and then the authors’ names (12 pt, non-bold) and affiliations (12 pt., italic font). Two line space must take place before the main abstract text and one line space before references. The paper must be submitted electronically (.doc, .docx or .rtf). The title of the file should have the same title as the author’s surname: Bаrаny.doc. Figures and photos are to be sent in a separate file in jpg format.

Call for papers
The Organizing Committee invites you to attend the Conference and submit paper or poster proposals on the subject areas mentioned for consideration. We kindly ask you to inform us about your intention to participate by sending back the application form and a one page abstract in English which will serve as a summary to your paper as well. The deadline is December 23, 2016.
The International Scientific Committee will evaluate the proposals on the basis of materials submitted which must clearly state the results and indicate the form of presentation together with the name, complete address, telephone, e-mail and fax numbers of the corresponding author. Reviews are also welcome. Papers should be presented in English, Hungarian or Ukrainian/Russian and sent to the Scientific Secretariat of the Conference.
Conference fee
Tentatively the conference fee will be 50 EUR, for students and PhD students the sum is 35 EUR, which includes the expenses on the official publication of the and the materials of the conference, refreshments as well as the participation at the reception, lunch and closing dinner.
The participation fee does not comprise accommodation and travel expenses. There is accommodation available in the hotels and motels of the city. Detailed information concerning accommodation possibilities will be attached to the second circular letter.
Cultural Program
Excursions to the famous Mukachevo historical castle, Shönbrunn palace, city of Mukachevo. Entry fee will be 10 EUR.
