International scientific and practical conference at the Rákóczi College (Video)

On October 15–16, 2024, the Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian College of Higher Education hosted the international scientific and practical conference on “Cybersecurity in cross-border cooperation,” with more than 100 participants representing 16 higher education and research institutions from Ukraine and abroad.

The conference attendees were greeted by:

Liliána Grexa, Ukrainian nationality advocate in the Hungarian National Assembly. Topic of presentation: The security of Ukrainians in Hungary.

Nataliia Paziura, Head of the Department of Professional Foreign Languages at the National Aviation University, doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor. Topic of presentation: Peculiarities of IT specialist training at the National Aviation University.

Oxana Rezvan, Head of the Department of Language Training, Pedagogy and Psychology at O. M. Beketov National University of Urban Economy in Kharkiv, doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor. Topic of presentation: The psychology of a safe living space for residents of the border military city of Kharkiv.

Ihor Todorov, Professor of the Department of International Studies and Public Communication at the Uzhhorod National University State Higher Educational Institution, doctor of historical sciences. Topic of presentation: The role of cybersecurity in Ukraine’s new security treaties.

Marianna Maruszinec, Associate Professor at the Department of History and Social Sciences at the II Ferenc Rákóczi Transcarpathian Hungarian College of Higher Education, doctor of humanities, researcher at the Tivadar Lehoczky Social Sciences Research Center. Topic of presentation: Protection of critical national infrastructure objects against cyberattacks: Ireland’s experience.

The conference was organized with the involvement of the following organizers and co-organizers: the Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian College of Higher Education (Department of History and Social Sciences with specializations in International Relations, Public Communication and Regional Studies, Department of Accounting and Auditing, Department of Mathematics and Informatics), Uzhhorod National University State Higher Educational Institution (Department of System Software, Department of International Studies and Public Communication), National Aviation University, IT Step University, Association of Border Region Municipal Bodies in Transcarpathia Municipal Association, University of Prešov (Slovakia), Technical University of Cluj-Napoca and the North University Centre of Baia Mare (Romania).

During the two days, the scientists presented the best Ukrainian and foreign practices and shared their experiences on the current issues of cybersecurity within the framework of cross-border cooperation, ensuring the uninterrupted operation of critical systems, with particular attention to the state of war, the introduction of innovative technologies that enable online work and communication for users, the cybersecurity requirements of information communication, and the risks in various areas of activity.

Ivan Havrilj, the organizer of “Dzhura”, gave a presentation to the students on “Cybersecurity as a component of patriotic education” at the conference.

Karolina Darcsi, lecturer at the Department of History and Social Sciences of the Ferenc Rakoczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian College of Higher Education, staff member of the Tivadar Lehoczky Social Science Research Center and the editor-in-chief of the Kárpátalja weekly, held a workshop on “The risks of cyber attacks in the media.”
