Members of the Forum of the Hungarian Minority (Community) in Ukraine visited our college (Video)
The Forum of the Hungarian Minority (Community) in Ukraine was organized by the State Service of Ukraine on Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience on December 2–3, 2024.
The members of the forum met in Ungvár on December 2. The meeting was attended by Ildikó Orosz, president of our college; István Csernicskó, rector; Ágnes Kulin, assistant professor at the Department of Pedagogy, Psychology, Primary Education, Preschool Education, and Educational Institution Management, and president of the Imre Révész Society of Hungarian Fine and Applied Artists in Transcarpathia; József Rezes, junior lecturer at the Department of History and Social Sciences; and Lajos Szilágyi, board member of the Transcarpathian Hungarian Pedagogical Association (KMPSZ) and teacher at the Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian College of Higher Education’s Vocational High School.
The members visited Beregszász on December 3, where they presented awards to leaders of Hungarian organizations and institutions in Transcarpathia. Following this, the forum members visited the Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian College of Higher Education, where they met with Ildikó Orosz, president of our college; István Csernicskó, rector; Ágnes Kulin, curator of the Na’Conxypan Gallery; Árpád Vizáver, head of the Health and Sports Center of our college; and Dénes Szedlák, director of the college’s dormitory.
In the first half of the day, the members toured various facilities under the guidance of Vanessza Birtók, head of the “Rákóczi-tour” Tourist Information Center. They visited the Na’Conxypan Gallery, the Health and Sports Center of our college, the Kölcsey Dormitory, the Philology Campus, the atrium, the zoology and botany specialized classrooms of the Department of Biology and Chemistry, the Katalin Polónyi Textile Museum, and the Esztergom Hall.
In the latter part of the day, they attended a lecture by Gyula Fodor, vice rector, who provided insights into the history behind the establishment of our college.
