Christmas celebration at the Rákóczi College

For years, the English Language and Literature Branch of the Philology Faculty has been organizing the college’s official Christmas greeting program. This year, the performance by the English major students took place on December 4, for which they had been eagerly preparing over the past few days. Students from various year groups actively participated in the performances.

At the beginning of the event, first-year students performed an American and a Welsh Christmas carol, as well as the Silent Night in four languages: English, German, Ukrainian, and Hungarian.

This was followed by Péter Szóka, a second-year student, reciting Jenő Dsida’s poem Karácsonykor (At Christmas).

Second-year students create a video each year that ties together student life and the theme of Christmas. This tradition continued as the audience enjoyed another such short film this year. The humorous scenes effectively captured memorable moments of student life.

Subsequently, Valéria Kováljuk, a first-year master’s student, performed her own song accompanied by the guitar.

She was followed by the FRIGy Band performing traditional Christmas carols.

Afterwards, third-year students delighted the audience with a Christmas-themed performance.

Next, first-year students performed the lively historical group dance Gathering Peascods.

The program concluded with everyone singing We Wish You a Merry Christmas together.
