Students of the Department of Accounting and Auditing continue to learn about the activities of financial institutions in the region, particularly insurance companies.

Students of the Department of Accounting and Auditing, specializing in “Financial Security”, “Accounting and Taxation” and “International Accounting and Taxation” visited the branch of the oldest Ukrainian insurance company,  NJSIC Oranta, in Beregovo on 8 April, 2025.

The head of the branch, Olena Anatoliivna Nosenko, told the future specialists about the history of NJSIC Oranta, its development in the insurance market, and the current challenges facing insurance market professionals. Mrs. Olena described the main participants in the insurance process (insurer, policyholder, insured, recipient of insurance indemnity), the peculiarities of compulsory and voluntary insurance, as well as insurance products of NJSIC Oranta, particularly in the fields of life insurance, property insurance, civil liability insurance, and other services in a fascinating way and with specific examples. The students learned about the features of different types of insurance and some nuances that may affect the payment of insurance indemnity. It was very interesting to learn about real life examples of concluding insurance contracts, which gave students a better understanding of the specifics of working in this field.

The head of the branch paid special attention to the issues of financial monitoring, which is continuously carried out by the insurance company to verify the accuracy of all its clients’ data, as well as the company’s responsibility in case of violations detected by the regulator.

Undoubtedly, such meetings with experienced professionals provide students with the opportunity to better understand the practical aspects of insurance companies’ operations in a real world environment, expand their knowledge of this field, learn about practical examples of concluding insurance contracts, and get answers to their questions.
