Renewal of the Primary School Teacher Bachelor’s and Master’s Program
In the last week of April 2025, a professional consultation was held with the developers of the Primary School Teacher Bachelor’s and Master’s Program at the Department of Pedagogy, Psychology, Primary Education, Preschool Education, and Educational Institution Management, as well as with employers, students enrolled in the program, and representatives of the student government.
Representing the employers at the meeting were Mariana Marusynets, Head of the Department of Education, Science, Youth and Sports of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, and Judit Kulin, Principal of the Hungarian-Language Secondary school No 10 of Ungvár named after Gábor Dayka.
Lecturers from Ukrainian higher education institutions also took part in the expert review of the training programs. Among them were Prof. Dr. Raisa Prima, Head of Department at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, Prof. Dr. Inna Khizhnyak, Head of Department at Donbas State University, and Prof. Dr. Tetiana Zorochkina, Head of Department at Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy. They highlighted the multicultural environment and the benefits of multilingualism as key strengths of the program, and drew attention to the opportunities offered by dual degree programs.
During the consultation, Prof. Dr. Olena Bida and Dr. Katalin Pallay, heads of the working group responsible for developing the training programs, informed the participants about the renewal of the curriculum, the modifications made due to legislative changes, and the adjustments implemented based on suggestions from employers and students.
In line with employers’ expectations, the program will continue to place strong emphasis on practice-oriented training, the development of multilingualism resulting from the regional context, and will further expand English language education with subject-specific content taught in English.
