Educational program “Financial protection”: an informal conversation about the idea and prospects
On August 16, 2025, Prof. Nina Poyda-Nosyk was invited to take part in an open discussion about the new educational program “Financial Protection” within the framework of the Security Thinking online sessions hosted by Doctor of Economics, Prof. Oleksandra Liashenko.
The conversation began with a fundamental question: what is security and what constitutes the philosophy of security? In today’s conditions, security can no longer be perceived merely as a process or a set of instructions – it is a way of thinking that helps identify risks and make sound decisions. The financial security of the state, businesses, and citizens has acquired new dimensions, and with it arose the need for specialists who not only understand financial processes but are also able to assess threats and build protection strategies.
That is why particular attention was devoted to the discussion of the background and origins of the idea to launch the “Financial Protection” program. During the dialogue, the participants shared the story of its creation, the key elements of its structure, and their vision for future development. The uniqueness of the program was also emphasized — it combines finance with approaches of security thinking, preparing students to work in areas where both financial literacy and strategic thinking are crucial.
The participants further discussed the advantages of studying in this program: practice-oriented training, relevance of the topics covered, involvement of experts from different fields, and diverse opportunities for students after graduation.
The conversation concluded with a discussion of prospects: “Financial Protection” is not only a response to current challenges but also a contribution to the formation of a new generation of specialists for whom security thinking becomes both a professional skill and a life position.
On behalf of the Department of Accounting and Auditing of Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian College, we express our sincere gratitude to the initiator and moderator of the meeting, Prof. Oleksandra Liashenko, for the invitation to this open and meaningful conversation, and we look forward to continued fruitful cooperation.
