From Theory to Practice: Lecture by a YouControl Expert for Students of the Department of Accounting and Auditing
On September 15, 2025, undergraduate students of the study program “Financial Security” had the opportunity to attend an online lecture delivered by business intelligence expert and YouControl trainer Maksym Zinchenko on the topic: “YouControl in Action: How to Transfer Financial Security from Theory to Practice.” Master’s students of the study program “International Accounting and Taxation” also joined the event.
The meeting was organized at the initiative of Professor Nina Poyda-Nosyk within the framework of the course “Security of Financial Activities of Business Entities” and was coordinated with Ms. Oksana Lynchak, Education Program Manager at YouControl.
During the lecture, the speaker introduced participants to the analytical tools of the YouControl platform for monitoring risks of potential counterparties and demonstrated real-life case studies of data verification, including the results of financial and market scoring. Students also gained practical experience in using tools for checking companies’ reputations in the media, sanction lists, and through identifying links with related parties.
Particular interest was drawn to the “Market Analysis” tool, which enables research into industry size and companies’ market shares. Thanks to a wide range of filters, an analyst can select companies by NACE code, region, registration date, and other parameters, track market dynamics and trends both in general and in specific niches, and forecast business prospects. Such a tool can also be useful for masters as part of studying the course “Business Analysis of Enterprise Activities”.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Maksym provided comprehensive answers to additional questions regarding challenges with data openness, specific features of verifying foreign counterparties, and emerging risks that should be taken into account when assessing potential partners.
The Department expresses its sincere gratitude to Mr. Maksym Zinchenko and YouControl for the insightful lecture and hopes for continued collaboration in strengthening students’ practical competencies.
