Participation at the Ukrainian Quality Assurance Forum in Higher Education (UQAF-2025)

Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian College of Higher Education was represented by three delegates at the Ukrainian Quality Assurance Forum in Higher Education (UQAF-2025), held on 17–18 September 2025 in Lutsk. The event was organized under the auspices of NAQA and hosted by Lutsk National Technical University. The College was represented by Professors Robert Bacho, Nina Poyda-Nosyk, and Viktoriia Makarovych, who actively participated in workshops and panel discussions devoted to the development of quality assurance systems in higher education.

The program of the first day, 17 September, opened with a poster session presenting study programs accredited in the 2024/2025 academic year with the distinction of “exemplary.” This was followed by the plenary session “Unity and Cooperation for the Future of Ukrainian Education” with the participation of leaders of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, moderated by NAQA Head Andrii Butenko. During the session, the successful completion of the Ukrainian-Estonian pilot project on institutional accreditation was announced, and certificates were awarded to the heads of three higher education institutions.

Important issues of higher education development were also discussed during the plenary session “Future-Proof or Fossilized? The Next Era of Higher Education”, chaired by NAQA Deputy Head Nataliia Stukalo. Key topics of the first day included current challenges and trends in Europe and their impact on Ukrainian educational policy; modernization of quality assurance systems in higher education; the role of internal quality assurance systems and cooperation with external stakeholders; the competence-based approach and implementation of ESG (Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area).

On the second day, 18 September, forum participants joined the panel discussions “Education for All: Accessibility, Inclusiveness, Recovery” (moderated by Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Andrii Vitrenko) and “Next-Generation Higher Education Standards” (moderated by NAQA Deputy Head Olena Yeremenko).

Throughout the two days, ZUІ delegates not only took part in discussions but also joined practical workshops, where issues of designing high-quality study programs, post-accreditation monitoring, combating academic plagiarism, and presenting best practices of other universities were addressed.
