Prolonged entrance examination at Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian College of Higher Education

Prolonged entrance examination will begin soon at Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian College of Higher Education, therefore we asked Miroszlav Stojka, the responsible secretary of the Selection Board at Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian College of Higher Education to summarize the most important information.

At bachelor’s degree course applicants can choose from the following courses: Ukrainian language and literature, Hungarian language and literature, English language and literature, Biology and Human health, Geography, Mathematics, History, Pedagogy for Elementary Level Teachers, Kindergarten Pedagogy, Tourism, and Accounting.

Students with a secondary education can apply for the first college year with three certificates obtained from an external independent evaluation. For all courses, it is mandatory to obtain a certificate in Ukrainian language and literature, or perhaps in Ukrainian language for Biology and Human health, and Mathematics courses. For information on what two additional certificates are required to apply for each course in addition to Ukrainian, please refer to Appendix 4 of the college’s admission regulations, which is available on website: www.kmf.uz.ua. According to the admission rules, instead of one of the three certificates, applicants are allowed to take an internal exam in Hungarian language at the college, if they are applying to courses belonging to the education and pedagogy branch (Kindergarten Pedagogy, History, Pedagogy for Elementary Level Teachers, Ukrainian language and literature, Hungarian language and literature, English language and literature, Biology and Human health, Geography, Mathematics). But they still have to take two of the three on an external independent evaluation.

This year, in addition to the 2021 certificates, certificates obtained in 2018, 2019 and 2020 will also be accepted.

If you want to start your first college year as correspondence student, you can apply only electronically. The registration of applicants’ accounts in the electronic application system (vstup.edbo.gov.ua) started on 1 July. To register an account, the following materials should be uploaded: the e-mail address of the applicant, the data of the certificates obtained during the external independent evaluation, the data of the high school diploma and its appendix, the average result of the high school diploma, a scanned version of the diploma’s appendix and a 3 × 4 cm scanned color photo. After the registration, from 12th August to 27th August, students should upload the application form for the selected course or courses through the registered account. For those applicants who take an internal exam in Hungarian at the college instead of the third certificate (in the case of the courses belonging to the already mentioned branch of education and pedagogy), this date is between 12-17 August. In the admissions office of the college, the staff are gladly help all applicants to register their electronic accounts and upload the necessary data and documents.

The college will publish a list of those recommended for admission based on high school education by 30th August. Thereafter, applicants have 3 days to submit the original documents required for enrollment to the admissions office.

For those, who are wish to continue their studies on Master’s Degree, the college are waiting for applicants in additional admission period for courses like History, Mathematics and Biology, both in full-time and correspondence forms, as well as for full-time Pedagogy for Elementary Level Teachers courses.

One can apply for master’s level courses with a bachelor’s degree, or master’s, if the student has already finished one master’s course, or the applicant have a specialist degree. One can apply only electronically. The registration of applicants’ accounts in the electronic application system started on 1 July at vstup.edbo.gov.ua. To register a user account, the following materials should be uploaded: the applicant’s email address; the number, PIN code and year of issue of the examination form received when applying for the integrated foreign language entrance examination; the serial number of the already obtained degree and the average result of its appendix; in addition, a scanned version of the appendix and a 3 × 4 cm color document must be handed in. Thereafter, through the registered account, between 15-28 September the application form for the selected course or courses must be submitted electronically. The entrance exams will take place between 29th September and 1st October, and the list of those recommended for admission must be announced by 4th October. Applicants had to take a subject-specific and a so-called integrated entrance examination in a foreign language (єдиний вступний іспит з іноземної мови). The integrated entrance examination from a foreign language is a test to be held in a system similar to the ZNO, which was taken by the applicants on 30th June. A subject-specific entrance examination is an internal examination taken at the college (corresponding to the course chosen by the applicant). For example, applicants for Biology will take a subject entrance examination in Biology. The topics of the entrance exams and the different types of sample tasks for each subject can be found on the website of the institution (www.kmf.uz.ua). Applicants can also read all other information about the process. In the admissions office of the college, the staff are gladly help all applicants to register their electronic user accounts and upload the necessary data and documents.

It is important to mention that applicants with a specialist or master’s degree may replace the integrated foreign language entrance examination (ZNO) with a foreign language examination taken at the college to be held in a system similar to ZNO.
