A briefing on academic integrity and the use of artificial intelligence was held at the Rákóczi College

The academic year has begun at the Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian College of Higher Education. During the first week of September, first-year and senior students can take part in numerous briefings designed to support them throughout their years of study.

On September 1, a session was held for first-year bachelor’s students, while during the week second- to fourth-year bachelor’s students and first- and second-year master’s students also can attend a presentation given by Ádám Daróci, the administrator of the College’s plagiarism detection system, entitled Artificial Intelligence and Academic Integrity.

From his presentation we learned that the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) has fundamentally transformed the world of learning, research, and education. Tools such as text-generating algorithms, translation softwares, and data processing systems offer enormous opportunities, while at the same time pose serious challenges to academic integrity. Our College places special emphasis on ensuring that the advantages of technology are applied in line with the principles of ethical use.

In addition, Ádám Daróci addressed the concept of academic integrity and the importance of adhering to its rules, as our institution’s goal is not only the transmission of knowledge but also the promotion of students’ moral and intellectual development.
