Carnival activity in the Beregszász Basic Kindergarten of P. Frangepán Katalin Grammar School
A carnival activity took place on February 15, jointly organized by P. Frangepán Katalin Grammar School Beregszász Basic Kindergarten and the Tulipán Tanoda Hungarian School of Folk Music and Folk Art. The session was hosted by the kindergarten in Beregszász.
Those present were greeted by Gabriella Szilágyiné Tóth, folk games instructor, who emphasized that during the sessions, children and adults can get to know our ancient carnival customs.
Under the guidance of the instructor and the kindergarten teachers, first the children of the Micimackó and Mókuska groups, and then the older children of the Méhecske group, got to know carnival customs, dances, and games. Today, the little ones could take part in a real carnival ball – they could learn carnival pranks, dress-ups, songs, and nursery rhymes.
The good atmosphere was provided by the Kokas Banda, who also presented a goat dance.
After the sessions, the traditional carnival donuts could not be missed.
At the end of the session, Ildikó Orosz, the president of the Rákóczi College, highlighted that the Beregszász kindergarten is the base kindergarten of the Ferenc Rákóczi II. Transcarpathian College, meaning that the students of the college and the ones majoring in kindergarten pedagogy at the associated Vocational High School spend their internships in this institution, where they can learn the latest methods and then take them to other kindergartens in Transcarpathia.
“Today can also be considered a methodological presentation class, where the children could learn the customs of the old carnivals in a playful way,”
she added.
