First-year undergraduate students have begun their studies

The 2025–2026 academic year has started at the Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian College of Higher Education. On September 1, first-year undergraduate students took part in a number of introductory sessions, where they became acquainted with our institution, their lecturers, and fellow classmates.

The attendees were welcomed by István Csernicskó, Rector of the College.

“I would like to thank our freshmen for choosing us. Thank you for your trust, and I sincerely hope that you will have successful, fruitful, and peaceful student years ahead. Discover as much as you can from student life, but do not forget that at the end of the semester exams will come, and for those you must be prepared,”

the Rector wished the newcomers much success.

Vice-Rector Sándor Berghauer informed the freshmen about the day’s program and added:

“College and studying here is an experience, it will bring challenges, beautiful and less pleasant moments as well, but I hope that everyone will find here what they are looking for in life.”

Following the greetings, Vaszil Maszljanik, Head of the Occupational Health and Technical Safety Department, gave a safety and health briefing. In addition, Katalin Lizák, Associate Professor of the Department of Philology, English Branch, spoke about opportunities for optional courses, while Petra M. Hidi, President of the Student Council, presented the colorful programs planned for this academic year.

Later in the day, the new students attended departmental briefings, where they got to know the various departments, curators, and colleagues. They were also introduced to the functioning of our library, IT center, and sports center.

We warmly welcome all students to Rákóczi College! We wish everyone a productive and successful academic year!
