Innovative digital methods in education and research – International scientific conference at the Rákóczi College
The Department of Mathematics and Informatics of the Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian College of Higher Education held an international scientific conference titled Innovative digital methods in education and research on March 27–28 as part of the Rákóczi Days event series.
The attendees were welcomed by vice-rector Gyula Fodor.
“Nowadays, digital technologies play an increasingly significant role in both education and scientific research. Online learning platforms, AI-powered educational tools, and applications of virtual and augmented reality open up new horizons for teaching and research alike,”
he said, wishing the participants a successful conference.
After that, Katalin Kucsinka, head of the Department of Mathematics and Informatics, and Miroszláv Sztojka, deputy head of the Department, presented the day’s program and provided technical information to the participants.
After the opening, plenary lectures took place. The first presentation was given by Ihor Orlovskyi, associate professor at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, titled Beyond traditional testing: The development of mathematical e-learning with STACK and stepwise assessment. He was followed by Gergely Pintér, head of the Digital Curriculum Development Department at Hungary’s Educational Authority, who presented on Interactive and gamified educational tools and learning management services on the National Public Education Portal. Finally, Zsolt Námesztovszki, a distinguished professor at the Hungarian Language Teacher Training Faculty of the University of Novi Sad, delivered his presentation titled Digital methods in education.
In the second half of the day, session meetings took place. Participants shared their experiences and research topics in 5 sections – modern digital tools in school education, methodological innovations in higher education, algebraic structures and their applications, the use of digital tools in research: challenges and opportunities, and digital tools in research and school education – in three languages (Hungarian, Ukrainian, and English), both in person and online.
On the following day of the conference, participants had the opportunity to join a pleasant local history excursion.
