Open day at the Rákóczi College’s Vocational High School – for the second time

For the second time, an open day was held at the Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian College’s Vocational High School on 18 May.

Katalin Soós, the director of the institution, welcomed the attendees and presented the most important information about the school. She recalled the early days of the institution, the main features of its operation and the possibility of dormitory accommodation. She explained that there are five programs available for enrollment – preschool education, social work, accounting and taxation, applied mathematics and tourism – and informed the attendees about the admissions regulations for the year 2024.

She was followed by István Gogola, a lecturer at the Vocational High School, under whose guidance the interested parties were divided into teams and got acquainted with the institute, the specialized classrooms and the teachers. Attendees could participate in team and individual competitions and quizzes. For example, at the presentation of the preschool education program, interested individuals received glasses with the letters “OP” on them, through which they could see the world through the lens of the preschool education profession. Those interested in the tourism program got to learn about hikingequipment and engaged in interesting tasks, while there were also activities such as 3D modeling, interactive educational games and a focus on developing social skills.
