Participation of the Editorial Board Members of the Acta Academiae Beregsasiensis. Economics Journal in the 18th General Assembly and EASE Conference “Editing in the Age of Disinformation” (Oslo, Norway, May 14-16, 2025)

Members of the Editorial Board of the Acta Academiae Beregsasiensis. Economics journal, Dr. Robert Bacho, Prof. Nina Poyda-Nosyk, Assoc. Prof. Viktoriia  Makarovych, PhD, and Assoc. Prof. Gabriella Loskorikh, participated in the 18th General Assembly and the International Conference of the European Association of Science Editors (EASE), held on May 14-16, 2025, in Oslo, Norway.

This year’s conference theme, “Editing in the Age of Disinformation,” addressed the current challenges faced by editorial boards of scientific journals in today’s information environment.

The conference featured a rich scientific program with 12 sessions, in which more than 30 leading speakers from various countries presented. Topics discussed included the credibility of scientific information, editor responsibilities, modern tools for fact-checking and data verification, and strategies to combat the spread of disinformation in scientific publications.

Participants also attended several training sessions and practical workshops, including:

  • EASE Training Course – “How to be a successful journal editor”
  • COPE Workshop – “Introduction to publishing ethics”
  • ISMTE Workshop – “How to Build an Effective Editorial Team in the Age of Disinformation.”

Participation in such international events is crucial for enhancing the professional level of editors, implementing the best global practices, and establishing contacts and cooperation with colleagues worldwide. The knowledge and practical experience gained will contribute to the further development of editorial policies, the improvement of internal procedures, ensuring high standards of academic integrity, and enhancing the quality of scientific publications.
