Students of the Department of Accounting and Auditing continue to get acquainted with the activities of financial institutions of the region

On 21 November 2024, students of the Department of Accounting and Auditing, as part of the studing the disciplines ‘Introduction to the specialty and basics of scientific research’ (EP ‘Financial Security’) and ‘Banking’ (EP ‘Accounting and Taxation’), visited the Sub-brunch in Berehove of the branch of JSC “State Export-Import Bank of Ukraine” in Uzhhorod.

Zhanna Letynets, Head of the Sub-branch, told about the history of Ukreximbank, which is one of the longest-standing domestic banks, and the specifics of its activities in the present banking market. The students learnt about the banking system of Ukraine, the role of the National Bank of Ukraine in regulating the monetary market, the main tasks and functions of commercial banks, in particular, those related to lending to the businesses and individuals. Zhanna Ivanivna spoke about the activities of the bank’s cash desk and the services that clients can receive there. The students also learnt about the activities of the Deposit Guarantee Fund and the procedure for obtaining compensation for deposits in the case of a bank’s insolvency, which is extremely important in current situation.

The peculiarity of Ukreximbank’s activity is its focus on servicing corporate clients, so the students got answers to questions about modern banking products offered to business, requirements and conditions for participation in them, in particular the 5-7-9 loan programme, current issues of servicing the bank’s network and ATMs, the collection process and the use of Ukreximbank’s mobile application.

Zhanna Ivanivna stressed the importance of continuous training, self-development and professional development offered by Ukreximbank to its employees, which is also relevant for the successful educational, professional and personal fulfilment of young people.

Acquaintance with banking activities is an important step in strengthening the professional competencies of higher education students majoring in EP “Financial Security” and EP “Accounting and Taxation” and contributes to their understanding of the applied aspects of the activities and interaction of various institutions of the economic system.
