The 2025/2 issue of Acta Academiae Beregsasiensis, Philologica is now available
On September 1, 2025, the Department of Philology released this year’s second issue of its scholarly journal, which contains twelve studies and three reviews.
The Hungarian, Ukrainian, and English-language articles in the field of linguistics address topics such as the use of AI-based tools in translation, the influence of the Ukrainian language on the professional terminology of Transcarpathian Hungarian teachers, and the role of various linguistic disciplines in the education of future philologists.
Several articles also analyse the linguistic dimensions of literary works: for instance, the representation of transcultural language use in János Penckófer’s novella Hamuther, the ideal of cultural mediation in István Kótyuk’s translation of The Forest Song by Lesia Ukrainka, and the lexical features of contemporary Transcarpathian writers’ literary style. Readers will also find studies on dream motifs in literary works, the concept of farewell in John Donne’s love poetry, and the sources of funeral hymnals.
The Review section presents discussions of publications in contact linguistics, dialectology, and literary studies. The journal also supports young scholars, featuring contributions and publications from four students of the Department of Philology.
As with previous issues, this volume is fully accessible on the journal’s website: https://aab-philologica.kmf.uz.ua.
Articles and reviews in linguistics and literary studies intended for publication may be submitted to the journal’s e-mail address: aab-philologica@kmf.org.ua. The next issue is scheduled for publication in December 2025.
