The Rákóczi College’s anti-corruption policy: education that creates values
On December 4, 2024, as part of the Anti-Corruption Week organized at the Rákóczi College, the faculty members of the Department of Accounting and Auditing, together with students from the undergraduate programs (Accounting and Taxation, Finance, Banking, Insurance, and Stock Exchange) and master’s programs (International Accounting and Taxation), participated in a lecture titled “Anti-corruption activities at the Rákóczi College.”
The speakers of the event highlighted the key aspects of anti-corruption activities: Oleksandr Ostrovskyy, the commissioner responsible for preventing and eliminating corruption, presented the foundations of the institute’s anti-corruption policy and discussed its importance in creating a transparent academic environment. Andrea Kozák and Andriy Moca, the lawyers of the Rákóczi College, provided a detailed overview of the mechanisms for preventing corruption and managing conflicts of interest in educational institutions. The participants gained insights into the following topics: the principles of combating corruption, the importance of identifying conflicts of interest, and the tools for ensuring transparency in the academic environment.
Renáta Bíró and Júlia Nagy, representatives of the student government, spoke separately. They emphasized the importance of involving students in creating a moral environment within the educational institution.
In addition to theoretical knowledge, the participants had the opportunity to discuss the practical aspects of anti-corruption norms. The lecture not only served as a source of valuable information but also provided an opportunity for dialogue between the teachers, students, and administration.
Events like this demonstrate that the Rákóczi College is not only an educational center but also an example of how an institutional community can unite in the interest of high-level integrity, as a transparent and fair environment is the foundation for quality education, effective governance, and the sustainable development of the institution.
We thank the organizers for the interesting and informative lecture!
Together, we build integrity – together, we create the future!
