Three lecturers of the Ferenc Rakoczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian College of Higher Education obtained the titles of associate professors

An associate professor is an academic title, which can be obtained in higher education institutions.
The previous week three lecturers of the Ferenc Rakoczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian College of Higher Education were awarded with this academic title: dr. Béla Rácz, Vice-rector for Science and Education of the institution, lecturer at the Department of History and Social Sciences, dr. Gyula Fodor, Vice-rector for Science and International Relations, lecturer at the Department of Geography and Tourism and dr. Sándor Berghauer, Secretary of the Scientific Council of the College, lecturer at the Department of Geography and Tourism.
As a first step, the Scientific Council of the higher education institution assesses whether the candidate is eligible for the title of associate professor. If the Council deems it suitable, it will nominate the candidate to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
In Ukraine the requirements for becoming an associate professor are the following: having a doctoral or candidate’s degree, a foreign language exam of level B2, relevant professional scientific experience, at least five years of teaching experience in the higher education and conducting high-quality independent research, regular publication of the scientific results, publication of at least one study in a journal indexed by Scopus and/or Web of Science (WoS) data bases and regular participation in pedagogical trainings. The candidate must also give a public presentation/lecture in order to get the title of associate professor.
Dr. Béla Rácz, dr. Gyula Fodor and dr. Sándor Berghauer met all the requirements, so on November 30, 2021, the Qualification Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine awarded them the title of Associate Professor.
