On January 22, 2013. on the occasion of The Day of Hungarian Culture a festive programme was held at the Institute with participation of the students of the School of Arts of Beregszász, as well as the Drama Circle of the Ferenc Rákóczi II. Transcarpathian Hungarian Institute.

On February 1, 2013. the Ferenc Rákóczi II. Transcarpathian Hungarian Institute (Beregszász) hosted a meeting of civil organizations under the auspices of the Civil Information Centre of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County and the Pro Cultura Subcarpathica with the aim of strengthening active cooperation between the civil organizations of Transcarpathia and Bereg County, promoting further cooperation, and sharing exemplary practices.

On February 8, 2013. a carnival charity ball was jointly organized by Hungarian Consulate of Ungvár, Hungarian Consulate of Beregszász, the Ferenc Rákóczi II. Transcarpathian Hungarian Institute, as well as the Pro Cultura Subcarpathica Civil Organization. Among its guests were Zsuzsanna Répás, Deputy State Secretary for Hungarian Communities Abroad of the Ministry of Public Administration and Justice, Katalin Ljubka, Chairperson of the Secretariat of State for National Politics KIM, Mihály Bayer, Ambassador of Hungary to Ukraine, as well as József Basckai, Hungarian Consule General of Ungvár and István Tóth, Hungarian Consule General of Beregszász, including their numerous colleagues. Győző Vinnai, governmental representative of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county and Miklós Kovács, President of the Transcarpathian Hungarian Cultural Association honoured the celebration with their presence.

The revenue obtained from the entrance fees and donations were offered for the renovation of the Institute’s roof by the hosts of the event.

Zsolt Németh, Parliamentary State Minister of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, being on a two-day official visit to Transcarpathia, on February 15th, 2013 paid a call on the Ferenc Rákóczi II. Transcarpathian Hungarian Institute. In Beregszász talks commenced with the discussion of such topical issues as the renovation work that has been carried out so far in the Hungarian establishment of higher education, as well as plans for its further development. The talks were attended by Tibor Misovicz, Deputy State Secretary for Management and Administrative Affairs, György Naszvadi, The Minister of State for Public Finance Ministry of National Economy, Zsuzsanna Répás, Deputy State Secretary for Hungarian Communities Abroad of the Ministry of Public Administration and Justice and László Brenzovics, President of the Charitable Foundation for Transcarpathian Hungarian Institute.

On February 15, 2013. “Nagybereg Country House” opening ceremony was arranged with the assistance of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its public foundations.

The guests of honour at the handover ceremony were Zsolt Németh, Parliamentary State Minister of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tibor Misovicz, Deputy State Secretary for Management and Administrative Affairs, György Naszvadi, The Minister of State for Public Finance Ministry of National Economy, Zsuzsanna Répás, Deputy State Secretary for Hungarian Communities Abroad of the Ministry of Public Administration and Justice, Katalin Ljubka, Chairperson of the Secretariat of State for National Politics, as well as József Basckai, Hungarian Consule General of Ungvár and István Tóth, Hungarian Consule General of Beregszász.

On March 23, 2013 I. Career Day was organized by the Career Centre and Alumni Association of the Ferenc Rákóczi II. Transcarpathian Hungarian Institute, in this way establishing a tradition.

On March 27, 2013 an international scientific practical conference titled “Gens fidelissima 1703 – 2013: historical and linguistic perspective” was held by the Department of Philology of the Institute.

March 27, 2013 – Transcarpathian conference of mathematics and informatics researchers. The scientific conference was organized by the Department of Mathematics of the Institute.

On March 27, 2013 a tradition nurturing Easter celebration was arranged by the Institute’s Department of Pedagogy and Psychology.

On March 28, 2013 a lecture on Hungarian mythology was delivered by Mihály Hoppál, ethnographer, Head of the European Folklore Institute.

On April 5, 2013 a charity concert was arranged by the Pro Cultura Subcarpathica Civil Organization at which works of Bach, Chopin, Ferenc Liszt sounded in the interpretation of Etelka Chuprik, Merited Artist of Ukraine. All donations of the charity concert were offered by its organizers for the renovation of the Roman Catholic Church of Beregszász and its premises within the Fundraising Action of the Dioscese.

On April 22, 2013 Earth Day series of events titled „Think globally, act locally” aimed at raising environmental awareness and fostering love of nature were run by the Institute’s Department of Biology and Chemistry, as well as the Departments of Geography and Mathematics.

April 26, 2013 – the signing of agreement in principle between the Government of Hungary and the Ferenc Rákóczi II. Transcarpathian Hungarian Institute on the development of Hungarian higher education in Transcarpathia.

On October 2, 2013 an external meeting of the Committee on Human and Ethnic Minority Rights of the Ukrainian Parliament was held in Transcarpathia. In the limelight of the talks with the members of the Hungarian National Unity Committee were common problems affecting both countries, as well as the Transcarpathian Hungarian national minority rights. The event was hosted by the Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian Institute.

On October 10, 2013 travelling exhibition displaying works of art of a Hungarian- born German architect Louis Oelschläger Őry was launched in the main exhibition hall of the Institute.

On October 12, 2013 Kálmán Soós Remembrance Day was jointly organized by the Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian Institute and the Charitable Foundation “GENIUS” honouring the memory of the Institute’s late rector Kálmán Soóswho died prematurely. Student Remembrance Conference named after Kálmán Soós was held within the framework of the Remembrance Day.

On October 15, 2013 Ambassador of Hungary to Ukraine Mihály Bayer paid a visit to the Institute. Upon meeting with the Institute’s managers and faculty, he delivered a lecture entitled “EU – Ukrainian Relations”.

On October 18, 2013 during its debut tour round Transcarpathia, the National Strategic Research Institute of the Carpathian Basin gave a grand concert. The festive evening titled “Loyalty and Responsibility” remembering the Revolution of 1956 and War of Independence ’57 was based on musical performance.

On October 28-31, 2013 “Science without Frontiers” linguistics conference was organized by the Faculty of Modern Philology and Social Sciences of Pannon University (Veszprém) in partnership with FRII THI, at which possibilities of presenting their research results were open for both lecturers, and students.

On November 6, 2013 conference “Beregszász Anno” commemorating the 950th foundation anniversary of Beregszász was arranged by the Department of History and Social Sciences of FRII THI and the Tivadar Lehoczky Research Institute.

On November 18, 2013 victims of Stalinist terror were remembered by the Department of History and Social Sciences of the FRII THI.

On November 27-28, 2013 an offsite Transcarpathian meeting of the Károly Kós College, the Cross Border Advisory Committee of Media Service Support and Asset Management Fund took place at the Institute.

On December 4, 2013 nearly a hundred thousand course-books and online professional background materials were forwarded by the National Strategic Research Institute of Hungary to the territories outside its boundaries aimed at supporting training abroad. The first scene of this Advent period donation became Transcarpathia, Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian Institute, thus enriching its holdings of books by many a thousand.

On December 13, 2013 Advent Benefit Concert “It’s Good to Give!” was held at the Rákóczi –Institute. All concert proceedings were used to support the Boarding School of Beregszász.
