Péter Szijjártó, Dmitro Kuleba and Andriy Yermak met with representatives of the Hungarian community in Transcarpathia
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba and Andriy Jermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, met with representatives of the Hungarian communities in Transcarpathia on 29 January in Ungvár.
The meeting was also attended by Ildikó Orosz, President of the Ferenc Rakoczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian College of Higher Education and István Csernicskó, Rector of the College.
Andriy Yermak thanked the Hungarian community for its support and conveyed the greetings of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The leaders of the Hungarian community in Transcarpathia thanked President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Andriy Yermak and Péter Szijjártó for their comprehensive support and attention to national minorities. This support is visible to the whole country and the whole world.
Speaking at the meeting, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that Ukraine had fulfilled its obligations to Europe to ensure the rights and freedoms of national communities.
Mr Szijjártó outlined the Hungarian government’s position that its expectation is that the Hungarians of Transcarpathia will get back the rights they had in 2015.
“We stand for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. We condemn the war, and we want peace in our neighbour as soon as possible,”
