The Department of Accounting and Auditing held events within the Academic Integrity Week

It has already become a good tradition for the Department of Accounting and Auditing of the FR II THCHE to hold “Academic Integrity Week” every year to popularize the principles and culture of academic integrity among students. This year’s events took place from December 11 to 15.

December 11, 2023, marked the commencement of “Academic Integrity Week,” attended by the academic and teaching staff of the department, as well as graduates holding bachelor’s and master’s degrees in higher education. The event also welcomed special guests, professionals who had completed preparatory education in “Accounting and Taxation.” Prof. Robert Bacho, the head of the Department of Accounting and Auditing, delivered the opening address, highlighting the significance and imperative of promoting academic integrity principles and adherence to ethical standards throughout the pursuit of higher education.

The 1st year students who obtain their master degree in the EP “International Accounting and Taxation” were actively involved in the preparation and implementation of events as part of studying the course “Methodology of Scientific Research”. These students played a key role in designing and delivering a presentation on “Academic Integrity” for bachelor’s students and guests. The presentation delved into the concept’s essence, various forms of academic dishonesty, and the accountability associated with violating fundamental integrity principles—examining both applicants and the scientific and pedagogical personnel involved in the educational process. The highlight of the presentation was a video displaying an oral survey conducted among students and staff at FR II THCHE to gauge awareness of academic integrity issues.

On the same day, first-year students of majors 071 “Accounting and Taxation” and 072 “Finance, Banking, Insurance and the Stock Market (Financial Security)” successfully completed an online course on the topic “Academic Integrity at the University” and received certificates.

On December 12, 2023, all interested applicants of higher education joined in listening to the recording of the webinar on the topic “Academic integrity – the key to the successful development of science and the state”.

On December 14, 2023, a meeting of first-year students took place with the lawyer Andriy Motsa, at which an interesting and informative discussion took place on the topic “Academic Integrity: Problems of Implementation and Responsibility”.

On December 15, 2023, the department hosted the eighth annual student economic conference titled “Economic Scientific Research.” Totally 21 participants actively contributed to this scholarly event. The reports explored diverse issues within the realm of economics, encompassing topics such as investments, inflation’s forms and causes, tax system development, unemployment causes, wages in Ukraine and Hungary, and the deficit in Ukraine’s state budget. Every participant who delivered a scientific presentation at the conference received certificates of participation along with commendatory gifts.

The faculty members of the department earnestly anticipate that these events will foster the cultivation of academic culture among students and the broader academic community.
