The Department of Accounting and Auditing conducted an observed lesson
International educational internship program
On Friday, May 6, 2022, the Department of Accounting and Auditing organized a review lecture as part of the study of the discipline “International Economics” for 2nd year students majoring in “Accounting and Taxation”.
The lecturer was Botond Kalman, who is a graduating MA student of the Department of Technical Pedagogy, Faculty of Economics of Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME GTK MPT), majoring in economics teaching. Prof. Nina Poyda-Nosyk was appointed as a mentor of the trainee.
Verification and evaluation of Kalman B.’s individual educational internship in the process of involvement in teaching a professional discipline at the department showed a high level of pedagogical skills and confirmed his ability to work with students, which is necessary for a master’s degree in “teaching economics”. The relevant qualification was confirmed by the positive feedback of colleagues on the review lecture and the general conclusion of the Department of Accounting and Auditing.
Students also responded positively to the lesson:
Vivien Bátori: Last Friday, 6 May, 2022, we took on the topic of balance of payments and microeconomic balance with the teacher Kalman Botond. As a future accountant, I was also very interested in this topic and Botond Kálmán gave us a very interesting and all-encompassing lecture. We were able to deepen our knowledge not only with the theoretical part but also with practice. In the practical part, we dealt with the balance of payments, which was no longer an unknown topic for any of us, as we have already encountered this topic during our studies. However, it was an international balance of payments, so we learned a lot of new terms.
Kálmán Botond tried to explain everything simply and clearly, yet he maintained the standard required by our institution. He tried to answer all our questions and keep our interest in both the lectures and the exercises. I think he can be a very good teacher in the future.
Overall, I really enjoyed Friday class and was able to deepen my knowledge so far in both the lecture and the practice.
Vivien Simon: – By attending the observed lecture last Friday, we were able to gain a wealth of new knowledge while listening to the teacher, Botond Kálmán. He presented the topic comprehensively, meaningfully, and completely with scientific knowledge, which he explained to the students in two languages: English and Hungarian. He substantiated his claims with examples that are relevant to the international economy of today’s world. Then there was the practical part of the lesson, in which we solved different tasks together. All in all, we were able to take part in a great, well-prepared performance that proved to be excellent from our point of view as well.
Márcenyuk Eleonóra: – I think the lecture was good. We could understand everything because the topic was well explained. As for me, I liked the way of delievering that lecture because the topic was explained in both languages English and Hungarian for those, who may not understand English very well.
