MonsoonSIM opens horizons for Ukrainian universities with the assistance of the Department of Accounting and Auditing

On February 4-5, 2022, within the framework of international cooperation of the Accounting and Auditing Department of II FRTHC with MonsoonSIM (Australia), a training “MonsoonSIM: Train the Trainer” was organized for teachers of leading Ukrainian universities with the aim to reveal the main advantages of implementing the business simulation in educational process. The founder and president of MonsoonSIM Mr. Abdy Taminsyah was personally the real learning facilitator.

The training was attended by more than 30 participants – doctors and candidates of science, professors, associate professors and graduate students of departments that train specialists in the areas of 071 “Accounting and Taxation” and 072 “Finance, Banking and Insurance”, from the following universities:

Ferenc Rakoczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian College of Higher Education, Berehove, Ukraine

Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, Lutsk, Ukraine

National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv, Ukraine

Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics, Kharkiv, Ukraine

Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman, Kyiv, Ukraine

Lutsk National Technical University, Lutsk, Ukraine

Khmelnytskyi National University, Khmelnytskyi, Ukraine

Participants and co-organizers of the event were teachers of the Accounting and Auditing Department Prof. Nina Poyda-Nosyk and PhD Victoriia Makarovych, who together with colleagues from other domestic educational institutions competed in teams for the best solutions and became certified facilitators. In general, the participants had the opportunity to pass the main modules of the platform related to trade (retail, wholesale, B2B), distribution and to observe the key performance indicators and financial results of decision-making. The platform allows, using analytics in terms of transactions and rounds, to build a variety of reports in the form of graphs, charts, team rankings and evaluate the results of each participant in the business game.

According to the participants, the intensity of the game and its digital nature, work with real data, incredibly realistic modeling can be used in the learning process and will contribute to enhancing the level of necessary professional competencies for students.

An extremely valuable gift was the decision of Mr. Abdy Taminsyah to give all participants access to use the platform for the entire spring semester to teach students. Positive impressions of such a two-day intensive event were left not only by the participants, but also by the moderator himself, who on his LinkedIn page thanked the representatives of II FRTHC for the opportunity to organize such an appointment with Ukrainian educators and for pioneering the MonsoonSIM’s experiential learning throughout Ukraine.
