Opening the week of academic integrity at the Department of Accounting and Auditing
The week of academic integrity, traditionally organized by the department of accounting and auditing, has started from a meeting of master’s students with 1st year students on December 5, 2022.
The event was opened by the head of the Department of Economics, Prof. Robert Bacho. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of academic integrity for successful study and conducting scientific research.
The main organizers and presenters of the event were students of the Master’s program “International Accounting and Taxation” Virlich Sandor, Markush Noemi, Petrychko Yaroslav, Talpa Erik and Khmil Anatoliy.
Students of the undergraduate educational programs “Accounting and Taxation” and “Financial Security” had the opportunity to listen to a presentation where the concept of academic integrity was comprehensively considered, accompanied by interesting facts and real life’s examples. Students learned about the types of plagiarism, the rules of copyright, fabrication and falsification. Analysis of situational tasks, in which both students and teachers of the accounting and auditing department took part, caused special interest and a lively discussion. They discussed the issue of writing off, objectivity of assessment and other issues important in the educational process.
Academic integrity is the basis for obtaining a quality education, observing social guidelines, and acquiring important professional and life competencies that form a high level of further self-realization in the future chosen professional activity.
