IV International Conference on Economics at the Rákóczi College

The Department of Accounting and Auditing of the Ferenc Rakoczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian College of Higher Education, in cooperation with the Research Institute for National Strategy (NSKI), held an international scientific conference entitled Digital Economy and Sustainable Development: the latest trends in finance, accounting, management, social and behavioral sciences. The conference took place on 26-27 March as part of the Rákóczi Days series of events.

The event started with a performance of Ferenc Liszt’s song Rákóczi-induló by Ruszlána Rudiuk and Mária Roszoha, teachers from the Zoltan Kodaly Fine Arts School in Beregszász.

István Csernicskó, the rector of the Ferenc Rakoczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian College of Higher Education, welcomed the audience.

“Many people think that organising an academic conference is a very simple thing, but it is not. Institutions where substantive research is not conducted, where scientific results are not valued, have little chance of organizing a scientific conference. Our college is a relatively young institution, yet in the last three years 21 of our colleagues have obtained PhD or Doctor of Sciences degrees, 34 have been appointed associate professors and 4 have been appointed professors. So we can rightly say that we are able to organise and run scientific conferences,”

he said.

In his speech, Jenő Szász, President of the NSKI, thanked the members of our college’s board for their kind and longstanding cooperation over the years. He also expressed his joy for the realization of the conference, saying that “…the bold stand you have shown here gives us all courage“.

“God will not abandon a good cause. It reads in Latin on the banner of Ferenc Rakoczi II. This is indeed true. The fact that we are here, that our institution has strengthened its economic and financial education, is also thanks to God’s support”,

said Ildikó Orosz, president of our college, in her welcome speech.
